Inkwell Writing Workshop 2025

The 2025 Inkwell Writing Workshop took place from July 29th to August 23rd, 2025. Its goal was to help elementary and middle-grade students develop and practice their creative writing skills. Throughout the workshop, students learned several fundamental creative writing techniques and explored a variety of different genres including fantasy, realistic fiction, magical realism, creative nonfiction, and poetry. Students also had the chance to improve and refine their pieces through comprehensive peer review workshops and instructor feedback. Additionally, they participated in interactive writing exercises like Metaphor Madness and played fun group games such as trivia! At the end of the workshop, we hosted a special writing showcase, where students presented one piece of writing in front of their peers and families.

The workshop was a great success, with strong attendance from the start! Each student improved so much, and we are proud of how far they've come as writers. We've received positive feedback praising the workshop for being fun and engaging and appreciating the instructors' positive interactions with the students.

We will likely offer this workshop again in 2026 with a renewed curriculum, so stay tuned for updates!
