2025 Inkwell Writing Workshop

COURSE DESCRIPTION

The Inkwell Writing Workshop is the perfect place for young writers entering grades 5-8 to explore their creativity and develop their storytelling skills in a supportive, engaging environment. During the workshop, students will deepen their understanding of creative writing by exploring advanced techniques in storytelling, character development, world-building, and narrative structure. They will experiment with a variety of genres and styles, refine their unique voice, and learn how to craft compelling, polished pieces. Students will receive thoughtful, detailed feedback from our experienced instructors and engage in meaningful peer reviews to strengthen their revision skills. They will also participate in fun group activities, such as writing challenges and friendly competitions. Best of all, this workshop is completely free!*

The application deadline is July 17th, 2025, so please make sure to apply by then if you are interested. We hope to see you this summer!

  • Saturday, August 23rd (showcase)

Times:

  • Tuesdays: 6:15 - 8:15 PM

  • Saturdays: 2:30 - 4:30 PM 

Location:

  • ​Eva Perry Library (2100 Shepherds Vineyard Dr, Apex, NC 27502)

*Please note that a $50 deposit is required to secure your spot in the workshop. The deposit will be refunded at the end of the workshop on the condition that you attend 6 or more of the 8 classes (including the showcase).
